Orchids and Sexual Satisfaction

A new orchid species has been discovered in Australia. To pollinate itself, it dupes a male wasp into attempted copulation with it. This is nothing new in the orchid world. Orchids are quite highly evolved and expertly use animal mimicry to their advantage. However, what is unusual is that this orchid species can entice and excite a male wasp to the extent it actually climaxes and ejaculates on the orchid. This is detrimental to the wasp as it, erm, can't quite "reload" like other animals. So, its copulation was a fruitless endeaver. But, hey, at least it got satisfied.

I do wonder what it would be like if such a substance existed for humans and imagine if it could be bottled. Not a bad thought to be able dab it behind the ears and make any man swoon with desire...

A Meme

A while back I was tagged to do a meme by Dr Zeus. No, I did not forget, just was on the back burner for a while.

So here goes:
1) The rules for this meme are:
2) Link to the person that tagged you.
3) Post the rules on your blog.
4) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
5) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
6) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

1- I detest green beans in any shape or disgused form. My mother used to try to make me eat them. She once told me that I could not leave the table until I finished all of my green beans and that she was going to sit at the table and make sure I ate them all. We both sat at that table for three hours. She gave up trying to get me to eat them after that.

2 - I have a bad habit of reading several books at once. Sometimes it takes me some time to get back to some of them and by then I have forgotten some of the details and have to start over.

3 – If I can get away with it, I eat dessert first. My rationale is that why not eat the thing that tastes best first.

4 – I love the smell and flavor of coconut, but I will not eat it in prepared foods. To me, it tastes like tough shredded paper. But flavor and smell are yummy.

5 – I have always (and still do) wanted to learn to play the harpsicord and piano.

6 – I am on a diet. I hate it. I hate not being able to eat the foods I love--especially those Hungarian desserts.

I am not going to tag anyone, play along if you like!

My Horoscope Mocks Me

Considering the kind of day I have had in which I have had less than a conducive learning environment, it would seem that my horoscope for the day mocks me:

Pursue something intellectual today -- ask a lot of questions. Listen and learn.

Asking questions only got me yelled at today. Another reason for me not to believe in Astrology...

I smell like what I consume?

I have to confess, that I do like the smell of green tea, gin & tonic, and waffle cone. But not enough to wear the fragrance.

Smelling like green tea or gin & tonic implies to me that one has spilled those substances on one's body or attire.

Smelling like waffle cone? All that is going to do is make me crave ice cream. And quite honestly, I do not want to do that considering that my last trip to the ice cream shop last week resulted in a portion of butter pecan ice cream in which I have no intention of disclosing the amount.

Besides, if I want to smell like those fragrances, I will just slather the genuine stuff on my body and not pay for something in a bottle. Although using genuine waffle cone could prove difficult...

Seaweed undies

Imagine my surprise when I got my Newport News catalog to find seaweed infused undies (bras and panties).

Yep, supposedly infused in this intimate apparel are seaweed nutrients. Of course, I don't buy the fact that wearing underwear infused with such beneficial nutrients are going to do me any good. Maybe underwear made entirely of seaweed perhaps. But I can't imagine there are nutrients in sufficient quantity in the underwear to do any good. Besides, wouldn't that stuff come out in the first wash?

Seaweed infused undies. Who would have thought? I have heard of edible undies, but I am not quite sure how to categorize this one.
